Life's A Beach

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge # The challenge for this week is to create a card or project that has a beach theme, something that you'd see at the beach or just uses colors that make you think "BEACH!" SPONSOR:    Shirley's 2 Girls PRIZE:          $10.00 Certificate for S2G goods! Here is my DT creation for this week: Whew! These challenges are giving me a workout! LOL!  It took much imagination to create a beach theme with the image I used for this card, which is courtesy of our lovely sponsor Shirley's 2 Girls , "Beautiful Afternoon." This was one of those creations where I had to "let it come to me."  In other words,  I had no layout plan - Oh no!  For starters I coloured the image, then created the mount for the image using Spellbinders Label #8.  I used a cloud template to create the cloud background.  I used part of a bench from the Magnolia collection to create the "boardwalk," which I coloured with pencil and Ranger

Daydreaming.....

Here is another card I created, using an image from Di's Digi Downloads "Maisy Modern and Kaboodle on Swing" (Click on any image for a larger view) When I first saw this digi, I could already visualize a finished creation - I knew exactly how I wanted to showcase "Maisy Modern and Kaboodle on Swing." I coloured the image with pencil and ink, then added Stickles "Star Dust," and Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects for just a bit of bling.  For the swing handles, I added twine. I chose not to use any designer paper for this card. Instead, I created my own background. For the clouds, I created a stencil by cutting cloud shapes out of some scrap paper, then applied ink using a sponge dauber. I did the same for the grass. Most of the flowers are handmade, with just a touch of Stickles “Diamond”. However, the white roses are from ZVA creations . I removed the bottom petals of the roses to make them look a little more like rosebuds, then sponged on a

I found Zoe!

This is a little shout out to Zoe at " Make it Crafty ."  Her creations are just amazing!  Not too long ago, I was browsing through my "inspiration file" of cards & projects I had saved pictures of, and there was this card that I absolutely loved! It's a pop-up card that really does "POP!"   I really adore the image she used, the dimensions, and the colors are so vibrant!  And how adorable is this Tea Party theme?!  I wanted to recreate something similar to this masterpiece, for my daughter (now 21 years old) who has always loved anything pop-up.  I know she would adore this card! but at the time I could not for the life of me remember who created this card, and could not quite make out the watermark so that I could re-visit that blog.  Then just today, as I was browsing through my favorite blogs, and someone had a link to Zoe's .  OMGosh!  How happy was I to discover that Zoe was the creator of this fabulous card?!  AND, she's offering

Our sponsor for this challenge is  STAMP AND CREATE PRIZE: $20.00 Gift Certificate Here is my DT card... This design is way different for me, but I wanted to try to be "adventurous."  And, I had a stash of new goodies & toys that I was anxious to play with.  I used ready made flowers - what?!  Yes, me the paper flower making obsessed fool... but I did make the leaves!  I discovered these gorgeous white roses by ZVA , that I totally love, because I can use pretty much any type of ink to custom colour the flowers.  How awesome is that?  For this creation I colored the roses with distress ink in Antique Linen.  I cannot remember who this adorable stamp is from?  If anyone know, please leave me a quick note! Other card details - Ink: Ranger Distress Ink - Antique Linen Butterflies: Stampin' Up! Embosslit

Di's Digi Downloads

Dear Friends , I am so excited to share my happy news with you: I have been selected to join the talented and creative Design Team for Di has the most adorable images!  It took me a while to decide which image I wanted to use for my DT premiere, because I wanted them all!  LOL!  I found that colouring Di's digi images were quite a lot of fun, as her digi's are delightful & lively, and well....so darn cute!  So without further ado, here is my creation, using the image " Friends Forever ." How sweet are these girls?!  This image really reminds me of my little sister, Michelle.  I sure miss her a lot !  She's on the West Coast, I'm on the East Coast, and we don't often get to see each other.  I have been wanting to send her a " Thinking of you " note, but this card is even better... this picture is she & I!  (Sigh!  I miss you Shells!)  ...Thanks Di for having the perfect image for this card! Please check out Di's digi images,
