A Monochromatic Floral-Shabby Twisted Sketch with Wings!

Hah! Try saying that 10 times! LOL It was so hot outside today - 97 degrees.  Ugh!  I thought I'd jump in the pool to cool off, but even the pool was too hot!  Seriously, there is such a thing... So, I spent most of the day in the comfort of our air conditioned craft room.  Here is my hot summer day creation :   I love the theme for this card, "A Monochromatic Floral-Shabby Twisted Sketch with Wings!"  which is a combination of a few different challenges Here is the inside of the card, also a pop-up, although I was not able to get a better picture...  Look at the little butterflies dangling on the twine! All of the "designer paper" for this card is hand stamped by MOI - I so rarely ever use printed designer paper because I love, love creating my own! On this card I used "Fabulous Flourishes" by Tim Holtz, "Documentary" by Prima , which were stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink and Stampin' Up! Soft Suede .  All of the flowers are a...

Sweet Shop Challenge #46

Here is the sketch for this week's Sweet Shop Sketch Challenge #46: This sketch was the perfect opportunity for me to use the newly released stamp "Oh Baby" by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD -- How adorable is this little girl?! Can she possibly be any cuter? I was going through my scrap paper box & found this beautiful blue - Stampin' Up! Pacific Point (an old In-color), which worked well for this card. the background paper behind the stamped image is hand stamped, using Prima Stamps "Jacquard" in Stampin' Up! ink in Pacific Point & embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used the Stampin' Up! ink in Pacific Point to create the blue matting as well. The paper flower is handmade (I'm still not over making paper flowers!) from more scraps from the scrap paper box. Creative Ingredients: Paper: Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point DS Paper, Black Cardstock. Ink: Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, Archival Ink – Jet Black, Ranger Distressing Ink – ...

The Sweet Shop Sketch with a Spin Challenge - SSS44

THINK SPRING! The theme that goes with this challenge is FLOWERS. I love the sweet perfume, and vibrant blue of Hydrangeas. So for this card, I just had to make hydrangeas. One of the things I really like to do, is to create my own embellishments. Again, I used a paper flower making technique I learned from a talented lady I met in a scrapbooking/stamping shop in Williamsburg. I made all of the tiny blue flowers that comprise each hydrangea bloom, as well as their leaves. I really love this technique! Can't you just smell the lovely hydrangeas? Creative Ingredients: Paper: K & Company, Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand, Blue, Black, White, Green Cardstock. Ink: Ranger Distressing Ink - Antique Linen, VersaMark & Clear embossing powder, Colorbox - Primary, Stampin' Up Sahara Sand, Kiwi Kiss. Stamps: Stampin' Up! Whimsical Wishes. Tools: Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts, Punch Bunch Flowers, Leaf. Embellishments: Stickles Glitter - Yellow.
