Go Organic!

Here is another AWESOME challenge at KL Stampin' N Scrappin'

Challenge # 25: "Organic"

This week's challenge is in honor of Earth Day. The challenge is to use something organic on our our card.  Oh baby! Did I have fun with this?!  My creative juices were flowing, and I was inspired to create this card, by a wall art piece my sister made for me a few months ago.

(Click on the image for a larger view)

I created the background using yellow, orange and green pigment inks.  I used torn paper to create template masks for the sun and skyline,  then stamped the forefront with the grass scene.  The flowers are handmade (of course, you know me & my paper flowers! LOL!)  All of the other elements are real.  I collected small leaves from the shrubs in front of our house, as well as twigs, sprigs of juniper, and the "gravel" is poppy seeds!  I was quite happy with the results of this project.  Even Scott and my son were impressed.  Their compliments were a huge boost of confidence and inspiration for me.

My thanks to Kathy at KL Stampin' N Scrappin' for another GREAT CHALLENGE!

I have also entered this creation in

  6. You totally rocked this one, Annette! I thought it really looked like one of those pretty dried floral framed pictures/shadow boxes. I am amazed at how many items you were able to incorporate into the entire scene, and I LOVE the use of the poppy seeds. Way to Go, girl! :) Kel

Our SPONSOR this week is  Magnolialicious Our lucky winner's PRIZE:  Here is my DT creation for this week's AWESOME challenge theme.... An inside view of the card, and custom envelope/box. All of the flowers on this card are handmade. I know, you're probably thinking, "oh what a lot of work!"  Actually, it really is not. I use paper punches to create the flowers and leaves. So, whenever I have very small scraps of paper I punch them with my floral punches & store them in a box for future use. It's very convenient for me to have the pieces already punched too. Then, whenever I get bored or often while I watch TV, I "form" the flowers & store them away so that they're ready when I need them. This is my box o...
