Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #69 Create a Christmas card...you're free to do this any way you wish. Create two DIFFERENT cards and be entered into our weekly prize drawing twice, create three different cards and you'll be entered three times, create four and you have four chances to win, etc... What a FABULOUS way to get a head start on your Christmas cards for this year! SPONSOR: Simon Says Stamp PRIZE: $25 Gift Certificate plus FREE Shipping! This card took quite a bit of work (even for me,) but I love the final outcome of this creation.  It took 3 tries to get the book piece just right!  My original idea was to mount the book piece directly onto the card and be done with it.  But all of a sudden, I had a surge of creativity - Ahhh!  Let's make this an easel card!  So then I started measuring, cutting, glueing, embossing, and TA-DA!  Yay! One Christmas card done & just several dozen to go... Come play along with us at Th...

Feeling Fishy?

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #67 - SKETCH This week's challenge is sponsored by Stamp and Create   PRIZE: $20 Gift Certificate         Here is my DT card for this week's challenge...  I love summer, and lately the weather in Virginia has been awesome!  That's what inspire me to create yet another fishy card.  Not to mention that I wanted to try something new (to me at least) - There are two "window" features on this card! Here's a larger view of my fishy friends.  Doesn't it look like they are really swimming about  under the sea ?!  See all the bubbles?  I really wish I could have taken a better picture of this, because this picture does not do the justice this piece deserves.  I built the background for this part by cutting a piece of paper in a wave pattern, then I used it as a stencil to sponge on alternating shades of blue.  The seaweed stamp is from  Stampin' Up! Tropical Party . The fish is by Recol...

Ooops! I'm late!

I'm a little late with this posting - I thought I had it pre-scheduled to post, but apparently not. Pardon me, I just had a moment.... But anyway, check out this digi cutie, "Cocoa" from Sweet and Sassy Stamps  - he's the star of my Guest Designer  creation for The Sweet Stop Challenge this week.   Isn't Cocoa just sweet?!  He was perfectly paired with the new strawberry patterned ribbon that I bought from the Berwick/Offray Ribbon Outlet a couple weeks ago... All of the paper is by Stampin' Up! Garden Green was used for the base of the card So Saffron was stamped in Old Olive using a Stamps by Judith stamping stub Riding Hood Red was embossed with Leaves embossing folder Celery embossed with Swiss Dots. I used Stickles Stardust around the border of the white cardstock, the border punch is by Martha Stewart, and the lovely pearl brad was another bargain buy at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Chantilly, Virginia last month.

Party Like A Rock Star!

Check out this cutie from Di's Digi Downloads :      "Big Sister Babs" When I first saw this image I chuckled, because the first thought that came to my mind was "Rock On!  Party Like a Rock Star!"   LOL!  This gal is a flashback of my "Madonna/Cindy Lauper" days - Ooops!  Have I just dated myself?  Oh well.  But aaahhhh... those were some wild & crazy days!   >sigh!<   Anywho, here's my wild & crazy creation... This was really a different style for me, a little shabby, a bit distressed, kinda rascal-ly, yet girly & isn't that Babs cute? Again, no DP was used on this project.  Instead, I created my own DP, using Stampin' Up! cardstock in Handsome Hunter, which I embossed with a brick wall Tim Holtz embossing folder, then mounted on silver metallic cardstock --- btw, have you tried the new electric Big Shot?  OMGosh!  It is sooooo da-bomb!  Al...
