Knock! Knock!

It's Thursday again & time for our new challenge at the

This week's theme is to create a
DOORHANGER

Sponsoring this fun challenge is GLITTERBABE

Prize for our lucky winner:

This was my very first attempt at making a DOORHANGER & I must say that I was a little stumped on ideas. And then it hit me.....  >BAM!<  We live on a secluded country road (of which most folks don't even know exist! lol) The weather has been warming up so we've been spending a lot more time out back....

FISHING! That's where my theme began...

Project Materials
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Sense of Time ; Documentary by Prima; Corner Flourishes by Angel Company
Ink: Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede; Versamark & Clear embossing powder; Momento Rich Cocoa; Walnut Stain & Antique Linen Ranger Distress Inks
Paper: Stampin' Up! Soft Suede, Craft
Tools: Spellbinders Fancy Labels, Labels 8; Cricut cartridge Cursive; Zutter Bind It All
Embellishments: Tim Holtz Game spinners; Brads

My original idea for this doorhanger did not include the spiral bound messages at the top & the message pad - that was an after thought! I was staring out of my studio window...wracking my brains for a starting point, then I began cutting & piecing...  then Viola!  I thought, "What the heck, let's add a couple more messages on a flip pad & why not some space to leave a message?"  This turned out to be a fun project & my Hunny was really pleased with the final turn out too. He really gotta kick out of the "Gone Fishin'" message because it's so him!

Here's the lovely view from my studio, from which I draw my creative inspiration...

I hope my little project has inspired you to get crafty & creative. I hope you'll join my Design Team sisters & I at the CRAFT Challenge this week. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Season's Change

Welcome back, Friends!  Come join me this week for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #78 - "Season's Change!" This week's challenge is to create a card or project using ONLY colors of Fall!   Oooh, how pretty, huh?! Our SPONSOR this week is  Magnolialicious Our lucky winner's PRIZE:  Here is my DT creation for this week's AWESOME challenge theme.... An inside view of the card, and custom envelope/box. All of the flowers on this card are handmade. I know, you're probably thinking, "oh what a lot of work!"  Actually, it really is not. I use paper punches to create the flowers and leaves. So, whenever I have very small scraps of paper I punch them with my floral punches & store them in a box for future use. It's very convenient for me to have the pieces already punched too. Then, whenever I get bored or often while I watch TV, I "form" the flowers & store them away so that they're ready when I need them. This is my box o...

Hah! Try saying that 10 times! LOL It was so hot outside today - 97 degrees.  Ugh!  I thought I'd jump in the pool to cool off, but even the pool was too hot!  Seriously, there is such a thing...
